Edoxaban versus warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation - The New England Journal of Medicine - 2013
Brief Summary:
Among patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation edoxaban is superior to warfarin in preventing stroke or systemic embolism and is associated with lower rates of bleeding and death from CV events.Reference: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24251359
Edoxaban has black box warning - do not use with CrCl >95mL/min, as there is increased risk of ischemic stroke as compared to warfarin...i got question in my FCPS part 2 theory that which NOAC is contraindicated in patients with normal renal function? that trial is the answer 👍
