Assessment Of Mitral Stenosis (MS) by Echocardiography and Wilkin's Echo Score to guide therapy

This video lecture is about the evaluation of Mitral Stenosis (MS) including 2D findings in different disease conditions, Qualitative and Quantitative assessment , calculation of Wilkin's Echo score to guide whether valve is suitable for per-cutaneous balloon valvuloplasty (PBV) or not. Ischemic MR and Functional MR are also discussed as these are also important causes of restricted motion of mitral valve leaflet. Guidelines are also explained as per American Society of Echocardiography (ASE).

By the end of this lecture you will be well aware of these things:
  1. 2D findings which define etiology of Mitral Stenosis
  2. Diagnosis and Quantification of severity
  3. Qualitative assessment of mitral stenosis (MS)
  4. Quantitative assessment of mitral stenosis (MS)
  5. What is Wilkin's Echo score?
  6. When to go for Percutaneous Balloon valvuloplasty (PBV)?
  7. When to refer patient for Surgical Mitral Valve replacement?
  8. Features of Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation
  9. Features of Functional Mitral Regurgitation
